Academia Jovem Concertante is the first traveling academic orchestra in Brazil.

Academia Jovem Concertante was created in 2012 by pianist Simone Leitão as a response to the Brazilian need for an orchestra to reach regions of Brazil that still lack experience with a symphonic repertoire while at the same time being a portrait of the creativity and diversity of young Brazilian musicians. and an immersive laboratory that prepares them for the music business.

The orchestra quickly became one of the most important institutions in the training of young Brazilian classical musicians from all states and realities. AJC was acclaimed by critics and organizations from Brazil and the world for its commitment to high performance, qualification and guidance of young talents in Brazil, conquering new audiences for concert music, and preparing new leaders among musicians from 16 to 28 years old.

This year we celebrate not only the 10 years anniversary of this program but also the 18 stages produced, 17 states visited, more than 800 scholarships handed to young musicians, about 200 concerts performed, more than 50 different cities throughout Brazil and, of course, the thousands of people who watched us and attended our concerts.

Applications to be part of the orchestra are made online and open to the whole country throughout the year. Young musicians from all over Brazil can apply for a chance to participate in musical practice under the guidance of Simone Leitão and great national and international musicians. After two weeks of intense training, the concert tour begins.
